Tack v0.28.0: More Control Inside the Meeting

Tack
Tack Team

Version 0.28.0 gives Pioneers more control over how a meeting begins, how Tack reads the room, and how the workspace feels while the conversation is moving. The driver still makes the first call, but the room decides which tools are present and makes the final call on the meeting's direction.

A Meeting Setup That Matches the Room

  • Focused Plan Comparison: Inactive template and export claims no longer appear in plan messaging, and their setup and download paths were removed from the workspace.
  • 21 Meetings on Plus: The Plus allowance is now 21 meetings per calendar month across pricing, billing limits, and meeting creation.
  • Labs for Paid Pioneers: Plus and Pro members can opt into AI-assisted setup, branching, and the dynamic context map while those capabilities continue to evolve.
  • One Enforced Boundary: Paid access, administrator availability, and member opt-in are checked across settings, navigation, direct pages, AI routes, and live-event APIs.

Move a Topic Back to Tangents

  • Two Ways to Say It: "Move to tangents" now sits in the topic detail panel next to "Branch from here", and on hover over any topic in the live outline. The node leaves the agenda and joins the Tangents row — no drift banner, no auto-park countdown.
  • The Mirror of "Keep as Topic": Promoting a tangent and demoting a topic are now the same gesture in two directions, and both survive a refresh.

The Session Learns Your Calls

  • Corrections Steer the Driver: A subject you promoted is never flagged as drift again; a subject you demoted stops coming back as a topic. This holds both in the prompts and in the client, so it is true even when the model disagrees.
  • Scoped to the Meeting: Corrections live and die with the session — nothing carries into your next meeting or into settings.
  • Focus Calibration: Promoting a tangent now makes the new topic the live one immediately, in the header, the outline, and the canvas.

Where the Conversation Is Going

  • One Read, Above the Canvas: A concise insight synthesizes what the room is converging on, comparing, or preparing to decide instead of repeating the current topic label.
  • Your Steer, Visible: A recent correction shows up beside it for a few minutes, so the room can see the driver took the note.
  • Calm Under Pressure: Direction updates are generated from accumulated meeting context on a bounded, debounced cadence. If an insight is unavailable, the strip falls back to a neutral listening state without interrupting capture.
  • Readable at Any Size: The insight can use two lines on smaller screens, then returns to a compact single-line presentation on desktop.

A Calmer Live Workspace

  • Motion on Your Terms: Live flow connectors can now be quieted from meeting settings. The preference follows the account and defaults to the full animated experience until changed.
  • The Room Is Present Before It Is Ready: Startup now assembles the real live-room geometry — outline, canvas, mobile dock, and controls — so the meeting fills an existing workspace instead of replacing a generic loading card.
  • A Stable Finish: Ending a meeting keeps the completed state authoritative while the final snapshot, stop response, and summary preparation settle, preventing live controls from briefly returning.

Shared Recaps, Presented Safely

  • Focused Public View: Workspace feedback controls stay out of public recaps and full-page loading states.
  • Useful Link Previews: Shared recaps now carry a meeting-specific title and summary into social previews, built from the same privacy-filtered record as the public page. Unavailable shares remain generic and non-indexable.

The result: teams can shape the meeting before it starts, steer Tack while it runs, and leave through a calmer, more coherent workspace with a recap that is ready to share.
